Sorry if this has been asked hundreds of times before....

I am getting a 2015 'new model' focus that will have the first sync 3. I am reading that it's 'just' a software update but I'm sure I heard that pre-2016, it was also a hardware swap too. Can anyone clarify please?

    Hi! If it’s the one on the right, it’s Sync 2 and would need a hardware swap (Screen & APIM) to get you CarPlay etc. One on the left is already setup for CarPlay and Android Auto
