Mk3 Hatch leak

Featured Replies

I've recently sorted out the leaking vents behind the bumper and this has resolved that issue but the other day i noticed that water had been dripping onto the parcel shelf from the right hand corner. The two grommets which carry the wiring into the tailgate have been sealed so it's not that. I've poured water over the roof/tailgate and it seems to be getting past the rubber hatch seal. It's not a deluge by any means but over a period of time its enough, the seal is fitted tight as it is this that the water seems to be creeping over somehow. Has anyone else had this problem. Thanks , Mark

I've just had another look to see if I can locate the source of the leak and I've found one of the bolts holding the hatch spoiler was loose, nipped it up and poured a watering can full of water over the tailgate and problem solved.
