2.3 galaxy mk2

Featured Replies

Hello i have a 51 reg ford galaxy 2.3 ghia and have developed a problem since changing the radio.

The car now wont start i get dash lights but engine wont turnover

Not sure if it related to radio change or just unrelated problem that just happened at same time.

Is the Red PATS light flashing very fast when you try to start it ?

No light is not flashing im unsure if just changing radio upset the car as no volume on radio aswell as car not turning over .

Or is it two seperate unconected faults.

Disconnect the negative from the car battery and leave it off for 30 minutes.

I'm confused.

For that process to work you need to have 2 fully working keys that are already programmed in to the vehicle. You said you didn't have any working keys.

It still worked the car started straght after doing it and car now runs ok.

After doing the siquance with the two keys i just put the same two keys back it ignition and it seemed the pick the keys up again .

Spoken to a friend in work who is very into car show and old ford about car and he said he has done this himself on some of his fords .

The reason it works is the keys are still programed to the car but the imobiliser hss locked them out and this tells the ecu its ok to accept them again.

So the next question is.........

Does the radio work ?

Havent tryed putting the rsdio back in yet trying to put it off for a bit.
