Focus Mk4 passenger's seat heating does not work

Featured Replies

Guys, my spouse complained that the seat heating on her side (passenger) does not work. I checked and indeed, it does nothing. Driver's side works well. All indicators operate normally and the fuse in the main fuse box (shared for both) is fine.

Any tips what could go wrong? Is this a known issue? The car is still in the warranty. However, I prefer checking myself before sending it for repair.

Have a great day, Jiri

If your car is still in warranty then don't mess about you can only have a few weeks left get it booked in to a Ford garage now !!!

You can download FORScan and use a vLinker FS cable to connect up to the OBDII port and see what problems are showing, if you want to do a quick check.

Thanks, I guess this is the best answer. I extended my warranty to 5 years/150tkm. However, I don't know what to expect. I visited a (good) dealer couple months ago. They had to replace both rear braking discs and pads. Discs had grooves and notches all around (can't explain it better but here us a picture for illustration). The car had only 33tkm back then. They told me "that I don't use brakes enough" and Ford won't honor the warranty because it is a consumable part. Quite disappointing. We walked around cars in the dealership and some of their demo cars exhibited the same problem. My neighbor has the same problem with Toyota and the forum I linked is for Skoda. I don't know what's wrong with the world these days ...

My rear right disc has two deep groves on it and the car has only done 16300 miles

Just closing the loop. The heater element was broken and replaced under (extended) warranty.

This does raise a smile.... A friend told me his wife had complained that water coming out of the hot tap in the bathroom was cold, so he checked it. She wasn't best pleased: "Don't you think I know the difference between hot and cold water!!".
