Losing fuel after starting engine

Featured Replies

I started my car this morning and began to de ice it and it was just over 3/4 of a tank and once I was done not even 5 minutes the gauge had dropped to under 3/4 without it moving it always does this at the start of warming the car up etc does anyone know what this could possibly be?

Does it drop that dramatically whilst driving?

Given the state of what's going on in the country, is it possible you got syphoned at all (check under the car for holes\leaks)?

Another thought would be if the fuel float got stuck (frozen) in place overnight and as such wasn't reading the correct level this morning maybe (more so if parked on an incline)?

Then running the engine could have vibrated it free, or warmed it up enough to free it off, hope you find out with the cost of fuel you don't want to be pouring money down the drain.
