Focus 2011 Titatium X problems

Featured Replies

I've tried searching for the past few hours but keep going round in circles and down rabbit holes. Basically i've got a 2011 Focus MK3 Titanium X and both the cornering lights and the headlight washers aren't working. I've checked fuses, can't see any blown in any of the 3 fuse boxes. The cornering lights are present (as in the bulbs and wiring) the lights are on auto but neither lights up on full lock. The headlamp washers are present (like they should be with xenon headlights) then pull out by hand, and fluid is topped up, washers are on auto i've tried pressing the squirt several times including pressing and holding, they never go

I don't know where else to look. I've got a cable and checked if anything is turned off headlamp and wiper wise, all looks like as built.

I'm stumped, any help would greatly be appreciated

thanks in advance

Hello David, would I be right in thinking that these items have never worked in the time you have owned the car ?

The use of the front fog lights as corning lights is a configurable setting in the Body Control Module (BCM).  You can use FORScan to change the operation very easily and have 'Just Fog' 'Fog and Cornering' 'Cornering only' and possibly some other options.

The head light washers only work if all of the following conditions is met. Engine is running, headlights are switched on, and the screen wash is used four or five times with a bit of a wait in-between. Then on the fifth operation of the screen wash the headlight wash will operate. They don't operate every time as they use a lot of water.

I've got xenon's I can see that separate bulbs in the headlights (3 bulbs plus led DRL) but i will have a look in FORScan after work tomorrow for what you have suggested. The washers the engine running and headlights on auto or on and I've tried pressing with a second in-between or in quick succession .

Both have not worked since I've owned the car so I have no idea of the history, but I know they use a lot of water which is why I'm thinking someone has messed with them 😞 but I'm sick of not being able to see with all the salt on the road's at the minute, so they need to get washed as the headlights are poor to start with.
