Ford ranger 16 plate , starting problem

Featured Replies

Hi im hoping someone can help me , i have a ford ranger 16 plate , in  the snow the other day i had a small crash in the front pasanger side , just in to the light and corner of the bumper , after the crash i drove away fine and when i got about a mile down the road it starting playing up ,like it was starved of fuel, after speaking to people they are telling me there is a fuel cut of when the car is in a crash , does any one know how to turn this of , iv checked the fuses and had some come out and plug into it ,but not showing any problems

If this had been a 2002 Fiesta like your profile it would have been an easy fix.

Firstly I assume that no airbags were deployed in the crash, and the seat belt pretensioner didn't fire. In which case the crash sensor has probably not detected the impact.

You need to use a laptop and download FORScan. Connect up using a vLinker FS cable and recheck for any Ford specific DTC's.

Have you checked behind the area that was damaged to see if there are any wiring harnesses that might have been damaged?
