Fiesta ST aftermarket wingmirror sequential indicatiors LED strip not working.

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, wonder if anyone could help me out.

I purchased the LED sequential wingirror strips from Aliexpress to fit to ST Mk8.5, everything was great, fitment is spot on, they work brilliant, but as soon as I turn the engine on they stop working.

My guess would be it has something to do with the voltage from the alternator. They state they are 12v, but would I be right in thinking once the engine is switched on the voltage increases causing them to basically glitch out?

If anyone has experienced this and could give me some advice to get these working when the engine is switched on because they actually do look really great when the engine is off and they actually work haha.

They state they are 12v,

All equipment for standard cars is rated at 12 Volt. It is a nominal rating meaning that the equipment will operate between 10.5V and 16.0V

How did you wire the indicators on the DOOR mirrors ?

(Wing mirrors were superseded more than 50 years ago) as I'm sure @isetta will be happy to confirm.

They are just plug and play into the bulb socket mate.

Look a nice unit.

Not that I'd expect them to work, but have you tried reversing the plug in to the bulb holder ?

Yeah the first thing I thought of to do haha, but still no joy, wondering now if the could just be defective.

If you refit the original lights and they work correctly, then yes they would be defective.
