Xenon headlight auto adjusting system

Featured Replies

When my 2013 Focus was MOTd, recently, my local (independent) garage found that the self-levelling system on the offside headlight had broken and that they had made a manual adjustment as a temporary measure until the mechanism could be replaced.

The garage said that the part costs about £240, and said that they would fit it if I obtained the part from Ebay.    As far as I can see, the system comprises several components, so I am not sure if this means that all the parts or just some need replacing.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a n appropriate exploded diagram showing the correct parts for the car and, ideally, how these are replaced?

a bit snapped inside the light unit? rather then an external level sensor issue... if the external bits surely its not £240?

my expectation as all manu do it - likely ford don't make the parts - its a nice little earner for the manu to make 800 quid light unit then fit a bit of trash that snaps after 5 years of UV light or 10 minutes of exercise and its deliberately an unobtainium component

...the idea to go on ebay was likely to find some Chinese junk for 10 quid and you use a cardboard box and your hair dryer to cook the lamp unit till the headlamp cover falls off so you can get inside to fit the bay special

wow some crooks do seem to charge that much - check the part numbers https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393395605853?
