Focus Active 2019 (Brake Hissing/Steering Wheel Lock)

Featured Replies

Hello.

I took delivery of a Focus Active 2019 this morning and think the car is great, but I noticed 2 things that I am not sure if they are normal or not.

One is when pressing the brake there is a hissing/air sound like I am inflating something with a foot pump. The other thing is when shutting off the car and leaving the steering wheel doesn't lock. The car is keyless, so I am not sure whether that is normal or not.

Any advice would be appreciated.

So the air leaking sound is probably an issue with brake servo, get this looked at!

Regarding the steering lock, this probably won't come on until the key is no longer detected, you could check this by setting the alarm to partial, leave the window open, go back to the car without a key present and see if the steering lock is on.

Checked the steering like you said, works fine.

Have contacted the dealer to get the brake servo checked on Monday.

Thanks for the help.
