Flex pipe gone 1.6vt 2012

Featured Replies

My flex pipe has gone at end that it connects to exhaust.

After looking it seems I have the dual car version and I have to take sub frame off to get at it.

Anyone any idea of the size I need to order as I can't get in to measure it.

I can't even get in to try and wrap it to stop it from coming into the cab.

Thankyou

It's not available as a separate part.  Would need to have the whole twin cat setup replaced unless you've got tools to cut and weld a new piece in?

With my luck I knew that would be the reply haha.

I've seen loads of weld on one's on ebay but I can't find the size of the one fitted online or get to it to measure.

So I'd have to cut pipe just after and fit a weld of clamp one?

Worst car I ever had this.

Only just dried footwell and repaired heater matrix pipe that kindly went on62 near Saddleworth on boxing day

Doesn't sound like you're having much luck with it!  Can't say I miss my Mk3 lol...

I don't know the size unfortunately.  But yeah, it'd need cutting and welding in.  Means the cat needs to be removed for access first.  I don't think you'll be able to clamp it effectively.  Need to have a perfect seal there so it doesn't knock the lambda sensor readings out.
