Rear Brake calliper wind back tool MK3

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can anyone advise me on which calliper wind back tool I need for the rear brakes on my MK3.5 please?

This is the first car I've ever had to change the rear brakes on as I've never kept them long enough before! 6 years is a record

There is one on Ebay for £9.99 but it says it's right hand thread, is that OK?

Many TIA

If you are only going to do it once you could improvise with a pair of needle nose pliers. Loosen the nipple slightly before attempting this as it gives the piston somewhere to go.

Thanks, I have a tool now, I've borrowed one from a friend, but it's right hand thread.

Will that be OK?

I think you'll be fine Dave. I've only ever had right hand thread ones as the vast majority of calipers are right hand thread on both sides and have managed to wind in left hand thread pistons with them regardless 👍
