!Guide! Replacing Rear Transmission Mount - MK7 2011

Featured Replies

-Ford Fiesta Zetec JA8 1.25 duratec 16v petrol 08-13

Misc:
-You should ideally replace the transmission mount bolts
-If you remove 2 or more engine/transmission mounts at a time then the outline of each mount needs to be marked with a pen. This is to regain correct alignment.
-If you are only removing 1 engine/transmission mount then it will naturally square itself off on reassembly

----------------------------------------------------------

-Put the front end on axle stands
-Spray penetrating oil on all of the rear transmission mount bolts & wire brush them

-Remove the 3 13mm bolts from the rear transmission mount
-Unbolt the 13mm nut for the lambda sensor bracket on the rear engine mount & move the bracket to one side
-Remove the final 13mm bolt on the mount
-Remove the rear transmission mount

-Replace the rear transmission mount & push the long subframe bolt through it, to suspend it in position
-Slightly push the transmission & engine backwards with your hand until it lines up & then secure them by sliding another bolt through the mount
-Torque both of these 13mm bolts to 48Nm (Ideally replace the bolts)
-Fasten the other 2 13mm mount bolts in and torque them to 48Nm (Ideally replace the bolts)
-Secure the lambda sensor bracket in position & secure it with the nut @ 48Nm (Ideally replace the nut)

-Lower the car back down
