Misc:
-This filter should be replaced every 37K miles or 3 years

----------------------------------------------------------

-Locate the air filter housing in the engine bay
-Take out the 4 T30 screws that hold the housing cover on (Replace the screws with stainless if they have deteriorated)
-Lift the housing cover up and to the left to gain access

-Remove the air filter
-Remove the small PCV filter sponge in the bottom left hand side of the airbox
-Wipe any dirt or oil residue from inside the airbox
-Replace the PCV filter sponge
-Replace the air filter

-Put the airbox cover back in place
-Fasten the 4 T30 screws until they are reasonably tight

Hi mate!

The existing screws are captive so it's correct that you cannot remove them. I cannot remember exactly how I removed them but it was either by cutting them with an angle grinder or using small bolt cutters.

To be honest with you I cannot remember exactly what size the screws need to be.
What I would do is unfasten the box and cut one of them so that you can remove it. Put the airbox back on and take the cut bolt to a hardware store. Ask them for 4 appropriate stainless screws.

I would probably go self tapping and probably go the next size up. I wouldn't be too concerned with them being threaded all of the way as mine 100% were. Just get a similar length screw, I wouldn't go longer though.

Admittedly I have only removed mine once to check the air filter but everything seemed totally fine. No splitting in the plastic or anything etc. Hope that helps.
