Hi everyone , I`ve been reading through lots of previously asked questions but can`t find any info for auto central locking of the doors when I drive away or if I can get a speedo screen to show in the trip computer on the information display . The car is a 64 plate Focus Titanium Navigator , thank you in advance for any replies... ps the radio is the sony one and I have tried holding the central locking button for 5 seconds before driving off but I have to manually lock the doors every time  , not a big deal but I`m concerned in case the wife forgets to and comes across some little scroat on the rob at traffic lights etc...

Drive away locking is not available on UK models. Instructions on how to turn it on by pressing buttons will not work.

You can enable it and add the menu option to the instrument cluster by using a laptop and FORScan software. It takes only 10 minutes to do.

 

Page 79 of the Owners handbook says you can display "Speed" in the trip computer.

Thank you Unofix , as you say page 79 says this is possible  but page 85 has no mention of this in my owners manual , If I invest in FORScan software is there a danger of loosing any of the current settings or am I able to add digital speedometer to the trip computer , also what would the cost be to acquire FORScan software capable to do this .Once again thank you for your help.

Speed display was in mk3.5 onwards, I believe.

You will need to update the firmware in the instrument cluster to MK3.5 spec to enable it.

Auto locking with speed is configurable, in FORScan, a Ford dealer will not do it for you

Once downloaded you need to activate the extended licence (free for 2 months or £12 for a year).

You will need a connecting cable. I would recommend using the the 'vLinker FS' which is about £32

Make sure to save and back-up your files before you make any changes to the modules.

Don't even attempt the firmware update unless you know what you are doing AND you have a very good quality lead and a battery charger connected to the vehicle.

Search FORScan forums on the instrument cluster before you attempt to get an idea of what it entails.

Thanks for that DaveT70 .....happen I won`t bother  , funny thing happened to me yesterday morning going to work.....stopped at traffic lights and a Lady Of The Night was pulling open my car door....$"1* myself...will start locking doors manually....Cheers...

Setting auto locking won't give you any issues, it's updating the cluster for the digital speedo that's risky
