Ford focus MK2.5 issue with electric power?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, ford focus MK2.5 , 1.6 diesel, 5 speed gearbox, 2008 model.

Issue is that while using any power source in car, it makes lights dimm..  noticeably, like opening window , light goes nearly half way dimmer, turn steering wheel, also lights goes dimmer, have subwoofer installed, when it's on, lights fluctuates on rhythm of music... Would that all be faulty alternator?

So far I have checked alternator, solid 14.4 v. Made new ground from negative pole to engine, thick wire with good bolts(bolted to one of gearbox bolts), there was number ground points near battery area, three of them  under battery, which I cleaned , put designated connection grease, one connection on top of strut reconditioned fully...

But still same issue..

Is it time for new alternator? Or there is some other ground points which need to be checked ? Or any other advice how to fix that issue?

Thanks.
