I will soon need a cambelt change on my 2.0 L diesel.

1. Any advice on whether I should use a genuine Ford belt etc. or is non-OEM virtually as good?

2. Should I replace the water pump at the same time? It doesn't appear to be leaking or failing in any way, but it has, of course, done a fairly high mileage.

    Ford don't make belts - thankfully! :biggrin: 

    Any decent branded belt will be fine - Gates, Dayco, Conti, etc.  

    I would change the waterpump at the same time on this engine, as it's unlikely to last another 10 years before the next belt change, but make sure it's a good quality pump.
