Battery Removal

Featured Replies

I need to remove my battery so i can access behind it to run a live to the sub that is going in the boot. Will i need to reset the car after putting it back. It's gonna be a pain as the live terminal goes under the scuttle. Just been and looked then thought stuff that for today.

Remove the airbox.  Then the front of the battery box comes off so you can slide the battery forward without having to remove the scuttle.

Cheers Tom

There is a Live - when ignition on, in the boot already that will supply up to 20 Amp, if that would work for you?

aha now theres interesting, its to run an active vibe amp, ive run the RCA and remote cables already, just gotta sort power down the other side. I should imagine 20amp will do. I can try it any thoughts where it is please ?

just read this on here, allegedly wont take the juice

The rear tailgate wiper motor.

It has 3 wires to the motor, (1) Ground. (2) Wiper motor supply when both the ignition and the rear wiper switch is on. (3) Wiper motor self park. Live all of the time when ignition on 👍

The Live self park supply can be found bundled in with harness that goes via the flexi rubber tube from the top of the tailgate to the head liner at the rear of the roof. It then makes its way down to the rear quarter panel.

Sorry don't have wiring schematic for you model to be able to tell you the colour.

Just beat me to it - as I used the permanent rear wiper supply in a 2001 Puma.

Haynes manual not very helpful, as it appears to be confused over which wiper motor is which when you look at which relay feeds which motor.

However, fuse 131 , fed from R41 ignition relay, does feed an Og/Bu core that goes to a motor showing three connectors, with a Wh/Rd core as a switched supply.

The Haynes diagram shows a four connector motor fed from the high speed motor relay, but labelled as the rear wiper motor.......

made perfect sense hahahahahahaha

Clear as Mud wassssn't it !

F131 is shown a 15A in Haynes, but if you have a rear power socket, that is a 20A fuse F109, and if you have a Luggage compartment socket, that is another 15A supply, F119.

What I can't determine from Haynes, is where they are fed from, and if they are controlled from the ignition, or from a battery saver relay.

I'm sure on my 2008 ST, it is the -ve under the scuttle ?
