After a lot of searching and not finding much about it, I finally managed to disable  my fiesta(18 plate) keyless entry and be able to use just the FOB to lock/unlock.

How to disable keyless entry when there's No keyfree option in car settings.

 

Forscan software with free 2 months trial and Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB adapter needed.

Steps:

Connect Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 adapter  into OBD2 Port and USB to laptop, open Forscan.

Connect car to Forscan and save profile.

Wait for it to finish loading.

Click on Configuration & Programing from the left side panel (looks like a chip).

Under the Module tab, select IPC Module Configuration(NO AS BUILD format) and run it.

In that list look for MENU – INTELLIGENT ACCESS:

It should show as DISABLE. HIHGLIGHT IT and CLICK, EDIT SELECTED.

On the pop up select ENABLED and click OK.

Click WRITE and SELECT YES(to write the changes)

It will ask you to TURN IGNITION OFF and ON(make sure your ignition is on before you make the change).

The change has been made!

Disconnect car from Forscan.

 

GO TO CAR SETTINGS and UNTICK KEYFREE ACCESS.

I have done this and it works, however when trying to start the car it won’t unless the fob is in the centre console. It says no key detected. This suggests it stops all wireless connections which is a pain.

If you just wanted to turn off the keyless locking why are you using FORScan ?

The option to switch off keyless entry is in the instrument cluster sub-menu. All you need to do is 'untick' the box and the keyless entry will be deactivated, and of course the keyless push button start will still work.
