2 Fault Codes, PO607 and P2110 - HELP PLEASE URGENT THX.

Featured Replies

Engine Systems Fault message appeared on dash then showed Low Speed Mode. Massively reduced power and engine sputters. Garage read codes p2110 and p0607.

P0607 is where a malfunction is detected in Engine Control Module.[engine control module ecm internal fault / on autel]

P2110 is Throttle actuator control system forced limited rpm.[throttle valve faulty on autel system]

If I blip the ignition off/on immediately whist driving it clears sometimes for many miles 5/30 miles or so and usually better when hot .... ???

Sent ECU off to a company called ECU testing for the 2nd time and they are rechecking unit .....some people have experienced this same fault in the past any other clues please ?

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

No always a fault with the engine control module but could be the wiring or connections to it. You would probably be off reading the faults with Forscan you may get a bit more info.

Suspect cluster solders if you are indeed a 2008 Focus

Hi Ray, did you fix this problem as I have the same fault codes.
I have a 2008 1.8 Ford C-Max….. car can be fine for a week  and then unexpectedly goes into engine malfunction mode… if I had hair I’d be pulling out.

cheers

Have you tried slapping the dash above the instrument cluster when it goes into limp mode. If the cluster has dry solder joints, it can sometimes bring it out from limp home mode.

codes from the obd can help diagnose issues.

Thanks for the response. I’ve read a few comments abound the instrument cluster fault and it seems people usually have other warning lights appear which I don’t have. Im trying to see if it’s more likely to be an ecu fault or not…it’s so frustrating.

The fault conditions that can be generated by the bad solder are many and varied depending on which signal tracks are affected. Ours just chimed and brought up the engine malfunction display so it's more likely yours is bad solder than an ECU problem.

Thank you all… I’ll try the cluster next and update later.

Not on all the ones I've seen. Just limp mode or no crank.

Get the DTCs read and if you see loads of "lost communications with........" codes and, more importantly, "THEFT DETECTED" then it's the cluster

Hi, the codes I have are p2110-63, p0607-63, U1900-20, c1956-30, u2023-A0.

various codes which makes me think that there is either more than one problem or it is as suggested the instrument cluster.

thanks…

The U1900 code definitely points to a canbus communication problem, almost certainly caused by bad solder in the IC.

Thank you… I’m going to have a look tomorrow… I’ll let you know how I get on.  Cheers….
