Have the garage done any diagnostics as it sounds like they're just firing the parts canon at your expense?

If the car is only used for short runs then the GPF will fill up and you'll need to take it for a longer run to clear it now and then.

But if the engine is shaking and showing a malfunction message then that's another fault.  That fault might or might not be adding more soot to the GPF.  But that fault should be the priority here.

Hi mate thanks for the reply last time I asked him what faults are showing he told me only the 02 sensor so I had that changed. I'm now experiencing the problems I stated above. Any suggestions of what the fault maybe it's due to go in again tomorrow. I will give them a call and ask have they done diagnostics on it this time but im hoping this issue isn't to major or too expensive.

I can't really suggest anything based on that information unfortunately.  There are many different fault codes for the O2 sensor, some are about the sensor, some are about the wiring, some are about the air/fuel mix.  So without the exact code I can't confirm what's going on there.

We have seen a few of these that need a PCM update after the O2 sensor is changed.  So it might be worth contacting your local Ford dealership to ask whether there is a PCM update available.  These cannot be done by a normal garage, only a Ford dealership.

Thanks mate I'll ask garage man for fault codes and post them when I have them to get your opinion I'm hoping this isn't a super serious problem as only had the car 18 months!!
