AutoTest - forgot how great a sport this is!

On visiting a shopping center yesterday, when exiting the car I heard the unmistakable sound of car engines being redlined, the squeal of tires under severe pressure, and the smell of burning rubber in the air. Yes. part of the car park had been commandeered by the Larne Motor Club for some AutoTesting fun! As a teenager I tried AutoTesting, and was shockingly bad at it! My car control was simply awful, and even then the ability to remember the course of a few basic turns/reverse etc was just beyond me. (Though one of the drivers made me smile when he stopped dead in the middle of his trial, lifted up an A4 sheet of track instructions beside him, and after a few seconds studying, recommenced his go!)

The skill of some of these drivers is incredible, though many were there just for the fun of ripping their car apart! MX5s were by far the most popular car, but old custom mini mokes were in attendance, as well as a few Westfields.

A relatively cheap motor sport to get in to, but providing the crowd with some exciting display of car control, forgot just how good it was... And a perfect day out, she spent 2 hours shopping, and I spent the time looking at cars!
