car polishing........exterior

Featured Replies

Does anyone use a polishing mop like the cordless ones to give their car a good deep shine.

Was looking at getting one but didn't want to damage the paint.

Also do you use the same polish/wax as i use Autoglym super resin.

I've also been considering a cordless one, but it'd have to be lightweight for me.

Autoglym SRP isn't the best stuff to use with a MOP.  Product depends on what you want to do - cutting compound removes scratches permanently but can damage paint if used wrong.  Fillers such as Poorboys Black Hole fill in scratches for short term to give the paint a glass-like finish, can't damage the paint unless you do it really wrong, but only last a few weeks before scratches start to show again.

I use my Bosch PSX variable speed with some velcro sponges from Aliexpress, works a dream. When really bad T-cut, the Carnuba wax. If going to the troble of machine polishing i'd recommend strip washing thenclay barring before.

I was looking at the worx one as i have a few tools that will use the same battery,i do have a few scratches what i could try it on.

i know there is a lot of the tin wax that people use,i might give it a go.

The DA6 is one great starter machine, a mate of mine had one for his birthday, he watched plenty of videos on youtube and with the pads and solution s provided he has done one amazing job on his bmw.

Plenty of lightly soaped water to lubricate and keep it moving, DONT allow the paint to get warm or god fobid hot.

I just use a DAS6 PRO. Not cordless but heard Rupes are good too.

Used this setup recently on my car and you can see the difference. I used Koch chemie H9.02 compound and that alone cut in nicely and left it glossy
