Wiring diagram for fiesta 1.25 petrol 2010 plate

Featured Replies

Hiya all. Please could anyone help me in finding a wiring diagram for my car? It stopped cranking a month ago and gave flash code 1:6 on immobiliser. We got out an auto electrician who took the ecu off over 2 weeks ago and took it home to do some checks but for all this time he is saying he can't find right diagram to do the checks. I thought it would be simple with ford been a popular car, he has 3 programmes anys its not on any? Obviousley we want the car back on the road ASAP so hoping I can trace diagrams so it can be fixed. Thankyou for your help

I'm completely puzzled as to why the auto electrician took the ecu off (and away) when you have an immobiliser fault.

Your Fiesta 2010 fits nicely in to the category for the two most common problems known.

(a) The failing solder joints on the back of the instrument cluster. This is caused by the Lead Free solder that was used at the time of manufacture. As it gets older the joints become brittle and break leading to many random faults and DTC's. The instrument cluster is a major part of the immobiliser system on your car and often causes issues.

(b) The Body Control Module (BCM) is another common problem for your model. Water ingress to the BCM is something that often occurs with these cars. Water finds it's way in to the connectors of the BCM (it is part of the passenger compartment fusebox) and causes corrosion of the tracks of the BCM and the pins of the connectors.

There are many companies online that offer a repair and refurbishment of the instrument cluster for around £90. You simply remove the IC and post it off for repair, which takes about 3 days.

The BCM is a bit more of a complex issue as you will need to find a replacement with the same part number and then it will need to be programmed with your cars "AsBuilt" data.

I don't understand either not having much clue we didn't really question it untill a week later after not hearing anything. He was checking it for water damage i think. If it is the BCM and it needs reprogramming does that need to me done by Ford or can it be done by an auto electritian? Don't see point in putting a thousand ££ into a car that's not worth that anymore? We're really lost with what to do.

Is there any way either one can be tested or is it a case of repairing one then other and hoping for best?

The mileage also goes to just dashes when key is turned?

Any competent person with a bit of computer knowledge can reprogramme the BCM using a windows laptop with FORScan software and a good quality connection cable.

FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

vLinker FS cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP

I would suggest that the guy who took away the ECU to 'test' is probably not the guy to use to sort out the BCM if it should need to be replaced.

Thankyou so much for your help, would you suggest just sending the instrument cluster of for testing first?

I think he took the ecu off as when he connected the reader to it it wouldn't connect to the ecu. He was highly recommended too 😢 just need to get the ecu back but he's ignoring calls and msgs 🤔

It's not worth sending it just to be tested. If you are going to send it away you may as well have it re-soldered as it will cost the same. There is a guy here on the forum who offers this service  @rd457 and will be able to advise costs.

Just please remember that the problem could be with the BCM. Having said that the low cost of having the Instrument cluster re-soldered is probably still worth getting it done.

Thanks again for the mention.

The dashes for the mileage I do believe to be related to the common cluster solder joint issue I repair, I've not encountered it myself before but I've seen it listed by other repair services in their common symptoms lists.

You can find links to my ebay services below in my signature. My standard service is currently £49.50 (including return postage but not the postage to send it to me). I typically manage to get them repaired and back in the post the same day. I'm offering my services so cheaply (ends up being less than minimum wage for my time) simply due to so much competition, yet I don't compromise on quality. I do the repair the proper long-lasting way. Please read the full details in the ebay listing.

If you send it to me and it actually turns out not to have cracked joints (unlikely) then I'll give you a partial refund.

Regarding the BCM water ingress problem unofix also mentioned, disconnect the battery, locate the GEM/BCM (you should find it in the passenger footwell area, it's a combined fusebox and computer module), unplug the connectors and look for signs of corrosion on the pins.

Thankyou to you both, I really appreciate you taking time to help me. I have saved your ebay listing, just hoping I get the ecu back I can then move forward with hopefully getting the car back on the road. It's been an absolute nightmare for the last month trying to get to the bottom of it.
