Problem after filling tank with petrol

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Did anyone have this problem before or knows about it…
Every time that I am filling my petrol tank the engine wont start at all.Last time in Shell station it starts after the 4 “key” but today at Shell again it didn’t start at all and I had to wait like 20-30 min to give a start again as it shows that the craking time have been exceeded.
Just to specify I have a Mondeo 2018 petrol (start/stop button)
Any advices please?
Thanks.

If you're brimming the tank, the usual fault is the purge valve sticking open and allowing fuel to pass, instead of just vapour.  I can't say that's definitely your issue but it's the first thing I'd check.

If that doesn't work, have a read through this thread as it seems like similar symptoms...

I think the OP is just bragging that they can afford to fill the tank 🤣

The system on a diesel is quite a bit different to the petrol version. @TomsFocus knows more about the 1.6Tdci he may be able to offer advice.
