Please can anyone help with my Mk 4 focus 1.0l ecoboost…

I have had an orange check engine light on for ages. Can be cleared with my simple obd reader but reappears 20 minutes later.

the code is PO113- Air Temperature Circuit High Input (Sensor 1)

Major symptom is the stop/start doesn’t work and it’s running a bit rough…not terrible, but not right.

took it to a local mechanic…he couldn’t help the took it to main dealer. They diagnosed PO113 (and charged £90 to tell me what I had reported to them). Then they wanted £400 to “investigate further” (3hrs)…surely this can’t be a huge issue…I’m really loathed to spend £££s on finding out it’s a sensor which can be easily replaced….google says it’s a temp sensor but the guides show locations that don’t exist on my 2018 model…,help please??!!

Now that's just cruel, maybe he liked having his engine cut out everytime the car comes to a halt 

Couldn’t give a toss about the engine cutting out at rest but I do about the £1000 Ford are wanting to take off the value of my car when the PCP ends in June..

Clear the code before handing it back to them.  Doubt they take 20 minutes checking them over?

 

I think the IAT sensor is located on the airbox on these.  It just twists in & out.

The problem is, I took it in there to be appraised…that’s why they’re trying it on. I mean I can go elsewhere to chop it in…but am reluctant to do so

Well, in that case, have a quick look at your airbox to see if the sensor I linked is fitted there.

Unfortunately we don't have schematics for Mk4 so it is a bit of trial and error unless someone knows for sure.
