Just to add a bit of context ive replaced the rear left hand ride height sensor and its stopped the lights going mental but still showing the code even after i clear it (i sure i have cleared it if someone can verify)!

Just to add i get a headlight malfunction error (on the front) as well but i cant see that logged here....again, unless im missing something of course!!

When you connect up FORScan, answer 'No' to using the found profile and make it do a full scan of all modules again.

Reset all DTC's. Then disconnect FORScan. Close FORScan on the laptop.

Reopen programme and recheck for DTC's.

Brilliant! Thanks very much!...I'll try that tomorrow night.

Tried it....no dice same error! not really sure what to try next....

Are all of the DTC's refusing to clear ?

Is everything exactly the same as before or are there differences ?

Yeah - from what i can see....is there a reset of the DTC i can do? I will double check tonight, do a fresh read and definately compare - i kinda glanced over the codes and thought "yeah - they look the same" - ive got an error on the front lights now as well...but they appear to work ok...on the dash i get a yellow dot at the front of the car...but i cant see anything in forscan apart from that rear ride height sensor not working (despite replacing it) and, the lights not moving anymore....

Lost is a sea of codes!!

Hi there all  - im back on this....so story has taken a bit of a twist....i kinda had to conceed defeat as the problem switched to the front lights....so to recap...

1. Front lights darting up and down.

2. Plug laptop in and it tells me the passenger side rear ride height sensor cant be communicated with so refit with a genuine ford part.

3. Fitting the part i now get a "front lights malfunction error" randomly but when the brakes are applied.

4. Take to local auto electrical place. They tell me the rear ride height sensor has to be calibrated so when i hit the brakes the sensor is technically in the wrong place but they can do it as its a "safety thing" and i need a ford main dealer....but give me the name of another garage that can do it.... 80 quid for the pleasure....

5. Call the garage they reccommend but they dont really seem keen but i do tell them ive plugged a laptop in with ForScan and he tells me it can be done from there??

What says you lot??

Have a look under service procedures on Forscan to see if there's one for recalibrating the sensors.
