Hi  , my rear brake light isnt working on my 52 Mk6  Transit. Ive taken the old bulb out and it was all black but the light element was working fine, ive fitted a new bulb and its still not working. Whats the best thing to clean the elements and contacts  with? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Andrew

The plastic clip on top of the cluster is broken, will it require replacing?

Post some photos of the problem so that we can better understand and advise on a repair.

Ive checked to see if power is coming to the light bulb fitting on the cluster. It is so ive moved the metal filament slightly and now the brake light is working for now, is it best to leave it to see if it continues to work or replace the whole light cluster? Thanks

That seems rather drastic. If it's some type of moulding that has broken, can't you initiate some kind of minor repair? As already stated, a photo would be really hand.

When writing a response, look at the bottom of the text box where you'll see a paperclip icon. Hit the 'choose files' and locate a photo from whatever device you're using.

That age it was common for the connector to corrode, or the lamp holder to corrode. You can get the lamp holders separate to the lamp assy. That usually does the trick.

Worked. This is the lamp cluster, the plastic bit at the end is slightly damaged.
