2011 mk3 Focus Stereo Power issue

Featured Replies

BVC non sony, information display is showing the clock/date and a cog down the left side.

buttons on the fascia not working, the power on/volume button doesn't do anything and isn't illuminated. (hazard and lock buttons work)

multmetered the unplugged main loom coming into the back of the stereo unit, there is no 12v showing on the brown/red cable (was showing as (0.01v on the meter), but there is power (16.54v) on the smaller red cable which i believe is the accessory cable.

plugged the cable into the stereo and retested the GND and brown/red cable this time it showed 0.45v

with the multimeter ground still on the ground pin from the stereo loom, I tested the fuses 67 & 79. both showing 12v on both sides of the fuse.

Also tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour reconnected and still no power to stereo.

anyone have any ideas?
