Fiesta 7.5 Rear camera Steering Lines

Featured Replies

After installing a rear view OEM camera in my Titanium X Fiesta every thing worked apart from the white steering lines. I checked the wiring and continuity of the system. This was all good so could only be the programming. I posted several items on the Forescan forum trying to get to the bottom of this.

Update on trying to get the steering guides on my rear view camera.

After bleeding my brakes using the ABS bleed on Forscan I thought I would have a play whilst connected. I checked that the BCMii still had the rear parking sensors and camera enabled, it did. I scrolled through all the other options to see if anything else was relevant. Nothing. I then went to the test page and ran the self tests on all the modules. This didn’t bring up any faults so not knowing what else to do I closed it all down. At least the brakes were flushed through. When I next started the car and went into reverse the white lines were there, though they disappeared the next day. So what had I done? I reconnected to Forscan and just ran the BCMii test again as this seemed to be the most likely. Again no faults. Just to be sure I ran the self test again. The next time in reverse up came the steering lines. That was a week ago and I know I’m tempting fate but they have now been there ever since. Hope this may help anyone with this issue. If it fails again I will post.

Update to above. All has been working correctly until I pressed the guide button. After that the steering line disappeared. The only way to get them back was to go through the BCMii self test again. Lines are back. I have no idea why pressing the Guide button should cancel the lines. Any thoughts?
