S - Max not starting

Featured Replies

So a month a go today my S-Max after being fine all day decided not to start.

The electric of the car were all working, no warnings on the dash apart from the word 'Dimmimg'. You would push the stop/start button and it would just not start and the engine would make a long screeching sound.

Called RAC - after waiting 2 hours for them to arrive, went to show them the issue and the car started fine. They ran their diagnostics and nothing came back.

The car has been driving fine until my wife has tried to leave an appointment this morning (after driving it literally 30mins before) and exactly the same issue again and the car wont start.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Thank you

Can you be any more specific about the screeching noise?  I take it the engine wasn't actually turning over?  If so, it sounds like the starter motor may have been spinning, but the solenoid has not engaged it with the flywheel.
