S Max 2.2 non starter

Featured Replies

So I just purchased a Ford S Max 2.2 2011.
the car had been parked for some time. I got the car delivered and tried to fire it up with no joy. Their car turns over but won’t start. It will run with easy start for a few seconds but then dies again.  There’s only one light on the dash which is a red oil light, no other lights are on. There’s diesel in the supply pipe and the return pipe. I have changed the fuel filter and primed it with a bulb but still no joy. I purchased a different code reader and tried FOREscan. This showed me faults for fuel rail system pressure bank 1  too low (signal stuck low)  ECM /PCM power signal high, fuel pressure A regulator open, fan 1 control circuit low.

I’ve changed both sensors on the fuel rail and the fuel pump over to no avail.  This engine only has a high pressure pump and no pump in the fuel tank.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.. I’m in the Hartlepool area if anyone knows a decent mechanic who knows these engines.  I’ll put the codes below for info
