Does it say GT on the logbook?

Is GT a dealer special?

I don't remember a GT model and I thought edge was the lead in model?

No it just says fiesta edge 82

but the part I’m confused about is how it’s similar to a gtr but its a gt

I believe it was a evans halshaw ford special edition

As far as I know, someone has stuck a GT badge on, a spoiler and the skirts.

Edge is correct, that was base model which would explain why you do not have front fogs

It was probably really old stock that they tarted up to sell on, they do that a lot

The Edge GTR was introduced specifically for young people, limited to 250 cars.  It had the least powerful engine and lowest trim level, but had additional bodykit & wheels - so kept the insurance low due to the power output and meant there was no need for the buyer to add bodykit as an aftermarket modification.

I must admit, I've never heard of the GT though.  I've also just checked the build sheet for that reg and it was just built as a standard Edge, including 15" steel wheels.  Some special editions are removed from the production line and manually finished, so that is one possibility.  Or it's a replica GTR, possibly using parts from another one that was written off.  Or it's a dealer special as suggested above.

Yes i agree.. but as it has the black roof ect its got me stumped, i know the original owner and it was sold to him as brand new as a gt by evans halshaw so i’m led to believe it was a special they ran, as a detail i know the gt decals are original and never been removed the car has only just done 100k i’m sure everyone down to the alloys is bang on so i don't believe its a replica as i have an image of the car brand new just very confused thanks you for all your help

Funnily enough we had a late Mk 7 Edge which turned up with factory front fogs. Could have been a "misbuild", using up parts before the 7.5 facelift or my other theory was it was a cancelled fleet order that had got into retail. At the time our local health/social services were using the Edge**for district nurses, health visitors, etc and they all had front fogs.

(**Now they seem to have ST-Lines and no doubt Pumas next!)

Sounds like it must have been a dealer special then.  Does the original owner still have the sales invoice?

As it doesn't appear to be recognised by either Ford or DVSA, you may struggle to convince a traffic cop or insurance assessor that it's all factory fitted.
