Check the wires/plug that go into the horn unit for breakage/corrosion. Where it's located it's quite exposed and may simply be suffering from old age...

Not the clock spring if the horn relay is operating. toot.gif.e23d80586a3bb9850d1fea7f0c151c84.gif

The fault has to be either a faulty relay or more likely faulty wiring to the horn. As @StephenFord has said the horn is quite exposed and the terminals and wires corrode.

On a 2013 model the horn relay will be part of the BCM and not user serviceable. Start at the Horns and check the wires and connectors. One positive and one earth.

have applied contact cleaner to the horn and connector terminals and the horn now works, have put silicon gel in the terminal housing to keep out any water that will ingress and cause problems in the future 😃

@vendman (or anyone else who can help me) would you mind explaining or uploading a picture of where I can find the horn and connector terminals please? I think I have the same issue as you but obviously I'm not as capable 😅

Give us a clue - do you own a Ford Focus? If so, what year/model is it?? Then you can update your profile so that we'll all know in future..

This is the exact reason that Swiss cows have bells around their necks, because their horns don't work

@StephenFord It is a 2015 Ford Fiesta - sorry took me a while to see the verifications emails etc. but should be on my profile now as well!

This may help in the location of the horn...

Could be the horn needing replacing because of moisture getting to the horn if I replace mine I will ask the mechanic if he can install some sort of shield around it or over it

Why do newbies always insist on dragging up old threads which so obviously have been answered? Who drives around (legally) for over a year with a non working horn 🤣

It's Benny from Crossroads 😂
