Door Locks

Featured Replies

Hi, I changed my 1.25 zetec for a 1.4 Ghia, and I've noticed that only the driver side door unlocks when I use the keyfob. I have to unlock the front passenger door from the inside. Is there any way to make it unlock with the drivers door? I can't see a child lock on the door, so I'm a bit stuck on this. Any help?

TIA

Try pressing and holding the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time till the indicators flash.

The latches go down a lot on MK6s

Try lubricating the mechanisms, both inside and out and see if it comes back to life

The only door that unlocks with the fob is the driver door, I have to manually (from inside the car) open each door.

Ok, as Dave said then, that sounds like a proper fault.  Either latch, GEM or wiring.

Okay, is there any decent guides on how to do this, or is it a sit down, take it apart and try to find a fix. I'm not shy with taking her apart, but would like to have some kind of guide for where to start looking

Did you try pressing both buttons on the fob like we suggested?

what happens if you press unlock twice quickly?

do all doors lock via the fob?

I tried it earlier, nothing happened, tried it again just now and it's worked, so guessing my fob is dying. But tysm for the advice

I may have missed this, but if you put the key in the lock and turn it do all doors unlock ? And do they all lock ?

As per Unofix's post of the 7th July, This facility is achieved by having two outputs from the GEM, one (Wh/Gn C319) direct to driver's door, and one (Wh/Rd C318) that goes to the three remaining doors.

If I put the key in the lock to unlock the car, only the drivers door unlocked. But I tried holding the lock and unlock buttons on the fob and it's now unlocking every door. Tried this before and it didn't work cause the fob was dying
