Shock Absorber Noise

Featured Replies

Evening all.

I have had my two front shock absorbers done, the make is Quinton Hazel. The first time I had them done they made a creeking noise especially when slowing down or turning a corner so I was advised to send them back and get new ones as they could of been faulty so I done that and got new ones (same make) picked the car up yesterday and the handling felt solid and no said noise but today they creeking noise has come back. I had a service a few months back and was told about the top mounts but I'm unsure if it was the front or back mounts that were worn. Any advice would be appreciated 👍🏻

Could be numerous things from the link arms to the lower bushes to the anti roll bar bushes.

You tried blasting WD40 on them areas to see if the noise subsides ?

Where would I spray the WD40?

On the rubber bushings ? If the noise subsides then it highlights the problem is there.

QH quality might have improved since but that was one of the aftermarket brands I actively avoided about 10 years ago!

Your service report should state which mounts are worn so might be worth double checking that.
