Sync connection problem

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a Ford focus 2015.
all of the sudden my sync device in the car for phones has stopped working.
I’ve tried the usual disconnect and reconnect and searched for sync on my phone. When I click sync on my phone to pair with the number provided by sync my phone doesn’t connect.
I thought it might be the phone so tired my wife’s phone but same thing happened.

I’ve tried master reset to and still the same any ideas ?

It's hard to understand how a company such as Ford managed to  f up a simple Bluetooth connection 😞

Of course I shouldn't be too surprised as they also designed ( or at least put the stupid thing into some of their cars)the wet belt system ( dear God)

Hi and sorry if this is totally the wrong place but I'm new(ish) here and was searching for a possible BlueTooth solution.

My Fiesta is 2016 Mrk 7.5 I've been helpfully told.

I had a problem of my car not starting and eventually I have tracked this down to a flat battery and my old battery charger not being able to charge my stop/start battery. I bought a new 'smart' charger and 'yay' my car starts again. Somehow in the process of removing the battery and reconnection it my car has lost the BlueTooth/USB connectivity. The menu option for SYNC is there but I cannot access it by pressing OK. I have the Sony console and have tested the 10A fuse behind the glove box as well as removing and reconnecting the battery for a reset. Nothing I try enables the BT/USB part of the menu. At this stage it's nothing to do with my phone because the BT is not an option I can select from the cars menu.

Is there anything anyone can think about and is this related to this thread. If not I'm happy to make a new post.

Many thanks - G

Awful that Ford let this go on and on,sync is Shi#e,

My youngest is looking for my Fiesta, and I'm seriously thinking of swopping him,

Between the  wet belt problems, and this sync rubbish etc I'm going off Ford rapidly,

Japanese hybrid calling me back, cars that work, haven't these stupid ill conceived problems,

My Fiestas a dream to drive in comparison but reliability goes to japan

Problem still persists for manyyyyyyyy

Hi all so 'for now' my BlueTooth is working again in my 2016 Fiesta. 🙂

I removed these two fuses for a few seconds as I was testing options and then when putting them both back, my BT came back and connected to my phone!

24    10А SYNC, Bluetooth

and

21    15A Audio system, Bluetooth

I've only ever removed No 24 before.

I have no idea if No 21 had anything to do with this or it was just a lucky removal of No 24. Changing two things and testing is not very scientific 🙂

For now it's working and I can enter the Menu and BlueTooth SYNC again.

Hope this helps.

G
