2019 ford focus ESC service and check engine light

Featured Replies

Driving along and I get a warning message saying that the ESC needs servicing and that collision detection system is unavilable about 10 seconds later the warning light turns off to be replaced by the check engine light, the check engine light has remained on by the ESC light has not come back on car drives fine and didn't notice any problems when the warning lights came on any ideas what's going on

Thanks in advance

If you use FORScan (do not use a generic code reader) you will be able to read the DTC which will point you in the direction of the fault. The most common issues are faulty ABS wheel sensor (very often the front right - don't know why) or you have a battery with a very poor state of charge.

Download FORScan (free for windows laptops): https://forscan.org/download.html

and a suitable connecting lead for your car is:

vLinker FS: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP
