Fiesta KeyFob battery replacement again and again. 2019 car

Featured Replies

Both my Key fob batteries show the 'low charge replace soon message' on the dashboard after two months of use. This is despite using new batteries which start out at 3.3 volts and the replace message comes up awhen the batteries reach 3.0 volts.

The brand  new nominal voltage is only 3.0 volts so why do I get this warning every time after two months. I can only imagine it is the car computer as both key fobs have the same issue and I have tried several makes of the CR2032 batteries.

I have an idea what I'm up to as I'm a chartered electrical engineer, but expect a keyfob battery should last more than a couple of months!  Many thanks anyone.

Sounds like poor quality batteries.  The warning does come up around 2.9/3.0 volts on the Mk4 in my experience.

I put a set of Tesco CR2032 in and they lasted a month - now have Energiser and they seem to be lasting fine

Well  Every Little Helps !

Please only use Energizer. It's what the OEMs use
