During the car service (14 plate focus) our garage recharged the air con as it was luke warm. It is slightly colder now, but in hot weather doesn't feel very cold. Is there something else they/I can fix? or did they just do a bad job?

3 primary reason for A/C not to work. The gas leaks out, faulty condenser, or faulty compressor. If the system was temperature tested at time of recharge, and found to be 3c to 6c, and is no longer that cool, it's likely you have a leak. If it wasn't tested, you have no point of reference to compare!

If you have a temperature probe, (look in your kitchen drawer) see what it's pumping out.

If you still think, "doesn't feel very cold...", you need to take it back to the garage, or preferably a proper A/C specialist, and get a decent fault diagnosis.

I had my 4th condenser fitted on a 63 plate yesterday (yes 4th on a 10 year old car) and I always find the MK3 aircon is cool rather than cold.  Being totally honest of all the cars I've owned the Aircon on a mk3 focus is the worst by a country mile.

That is unlucky, though the condenser is in a really vulnerable position at front of engine. My Mk2 has great A/C with a replaced condenser & compressor...

Forgive me ... but... I’ve also got an old rusty 2007 MK2 beater that blows  around 2c at the vent! 😁
