2011 Focus (1.6 petrol) stalling

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

My focus just clocked up 100,000 miles and has been no trouble, but recently it has started stalling. It only happens when moving slowly like reversing on to the drive or when its slow driving gong through a drive thru. It is intermittent happening every 2 or 3 days and sometimes not for a couple of weeks. I thought it could be the fuel filter but that is a life time filter on my car. Would putting an additive to clean the fuel system work? Any suggestions on what it could be or solutions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Look for a vacuum leak, probably a split hose somewhere, being plastic, they go brittle after a while.

Have you change spark plugs ? or clean them ?

have you change the engine air filter ?

have you clean the maf sensor ?

have you change the timing belt ?
