automatic boot struts

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have been thinking of fitting Emerald automatic boot struts to my Mk8.5. Has anyone fitted these to their Fiestas and has anyone had problems with distortion of the mounting attachments after fitting the aforementioned struts. Thanks in anticipation.

A few years back I also considered these for my own Focus, after reading the threads highlighted previously, I just went for standard ones (at a cost of £10/pair!). Never regretted the decision.

The one piece of advice I can offer from experience is, that when changing, BEFORE removing the old ones, ensure the boot is properly propped up by a sturdy piece of wood. Otherwise, when 1st strut removed, the boot could potentially drop, trapping the strut, and smashing the real tail light. Not that I would ever have done something so utterly stupid 🤣

Thanks both of you. Having read some of the threads I think I shall give them a miss.
