Fiesta Mk5 - Passenger door open/unlock issue.

Featured Replies

hi - issue with my daughters car

passenger door will not open from the outside or inside

it seems the door is deadlocked as the inside handle will not open/budge/move

when unlocking the car with the remote it opens the drivers side ok - but i cannot hear the actuator/solenoid from the passenger door.

tried opening the car with the key in drivers side (No keyhole in passenger) - no luck

tried starting the car and opening the passenger door at the same time - no luck

car will now not start and was used 36hrs ago - is this due to deadlock being engaged?

any help/experience/ideas

Many thanks

Deadlocks don't prevent the car from starting.  I suspect the battery is just low from the time you spent trying to get it open yesterday.  Try jump starting it in the first instance.

If the door module has failed while deadlocked, it is a real pain to access.  The only option is removing the internal door panels to reach the latch and then use brute force to get it out to open the door.
