Passenger Airbag light

Featured Replies

Hi

Apologies for what is probably a dumb question and already been asked many times, but having had my 2014 Fiesta since March I’ve recently noticed this light (see photo) on my dashboard under the radio. I thought this indicated a fault with the airbag system but having taken the car to Halfords for a diagnostics check (no local garages seemed to be interested in helping) they’ve said there’s no warning light showing. So now I’m thinking this light just indicates the passenger airbag is on and should be permanently illuminated unless it’s been turned off using the switch in the glove box. Can anyone help and confirm if this light should always be illuminated (unless airbag switched off) and it’s not a fault?

Thanks,

Yes that's normal.

It's warning you the passenger airbag is on, so not to put a rear facing baby seat in the front.

Yes, it is normal., I have the same on my 2013 fiesta. The switch to turn it off and on is in the glovebox. You can use the key to turn it on and off.

Good to know that it did it's job and you noticed it eventually 🤣

Why not try turning the keyswitch and see what happens to the light?

Haha, yes I noticed it a little while ago but for some reason don’t remember it being on when I first got the car which I is why I thought it might be a fault. The user manual wasn’t very clear either. Glad to know it’s supposed to be on!

Thanks a lot! Glad to hear it.
