Fuel filter replacement

Featured Replies

Good afternoon.

I own a ford focus MK2 1.6 diesel 05 plate

Im having so much trouble since the turbo went csusing the engine to run away.

Replaced the turbo, absolutely fine. It started for one day then cut out. Got it plugged in and was told it had a fueling issue. The guy shook the fuelfilter and it was 90% air. I have got a replacement and i was told to fill it with diesel and connect it back up. I was just wondering if anyone else gas done this? Im getting mixed answers from google.

Thank you for reading!

You'll need to prime it using a manual hand pump to pull the fuel all the way through from the tank.

Just filling the filter isn't likely to work in your case as the fuel has drained from the pipework.

It can work if the filter is swapped quickly and there was no air in the system beforehand.
