Focus 2017 1.5tdci fuel filter replacement

Featured Replies

I'm ready to do my first fuel filter on my 1.5tdci, something I've always wanted to do but wary of the none start problems. Can anyone tell me if I have to bleed the fuel through?.  Ive looked on YouTube & most just cycle the push button egnition a few times without the clutch down?, then I contacted Haynes they said it needs to be primed between the filter outlet and the return pipe, will that just suck air from the filter into the pipe that was connected to the filter?. I've just bought the priming pump that has the fuel filter connections in either end. Anyone done one on this engine and give me a step by step guide I would really appreciate it please.

The 1.5 TDCI uses a tank lift pump so can just cycle the ignition on & off a few times to prime the filter on those.

It's the older 1.6's that need manual priming as suggested by Haynes.

I give Haynes all the information for my car as well and they still said I need to prime it first, anyone want to buy a priming pump 😂
