Focus Titanium MK2.5 Autolights

Featured Replies

So I have recently noticed my headlights have stopped coming on automatically when the controls are set to auto and it gets dark.

I have seen a post somewhere saying to check fuse 100 and 103 in the fuse box under the passenger footwell. I have not pulled the fuses to check yet but they looked to be intact.

So the other forum I had seen says it uses the same sensor for the auto lights and rain sensor. I have put my wipers to auto and poured water over the windscreen (where the sensor is) and the wipers work fine and come on automatically.

I am also wondering if I ahve changed something in elmconfig that has disabled the autolights but I can't locate my odb2 cable to check but will be doing so when I can find it.

Does anyone have any other ideas to try?

Faulty light switch would be my first guess.  When the sensor fails, the lights remain on permanently as a failsafe.
