We have a 2018 Ford Fiesta with a radio which receives DAB channels. When travelling in France we were struck by the fact that there didn't seem to be any DAB channels. On further investigation it turns out France has gone down the route of a newer system called DAB+ which is evidently not detectable with our DAB receiver.

Is there any way of adapting our car radio so that it can receive DAB+ channels?

    The UK also uses DAB+ and has done for a good number of years. A 2018 Ford Fiesta should have a DAB+ radio so I've no idea what your issue was in France.

    Thanks for the information. I'm glad to know that our existing radio is DAB+ compatible. It may just have been that we didn't venture into any of the (mainly) metropolitan areas of France where DAB+ is broadcast.

    This site suggests that the take-up has been relatively slow.

    DAB selection is a bit strange.  Can't just cycle through every station in numerical order as with the older FM etc.  Have to select which 'block' you want to scan through.  It's possible you were searching just the local block instead of a national one.

    Armed with all this new information, I suggest you pop back to France and try retuning as suggested 😂
