Focus 2 washer fluid nozzles

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just upgraded my mk2 nozzles to the mk3 mist ones because of the glorious streaks on my bonnet. I'm picking up check valves tomorrow to hopefully stop the dripping and bubbling that's still happening.

Something else I've noticed is that these mk3 nozzles spray a lot of fluid directly on the bonnet. Is this because the washer pump is not strong enough for these mist nozzles? And if so, can I just throw a mk3 pump in to solve this?

I swapped to mk3 ‘fan’ nozzles some years back.

Mine too sprayed more onto the bonnet initially, tip from the internet was to blank off the bottom of the spray aperture slightly to direct the spray upwards more.

Little blob of superglue did the trick.

You may find the pressure output from the mk3 pump is no different it’s just the nozzles align differently when fitted to the mk2 bonnet compared to the windscreen

Thanks! Will give it a try.

Do you happen to have a picture of how this should look like? Is the idea to block the lower half of the hole where the fluid comes out of?

Yes the idea is to block the lower part of the aperture

This is one of mine. If I’m honest the superglue might have fallen away with time as it doesn’t seem to be there any longer and I’ve not really noticed 🙄
