Flat battery even shortly after driving for a while

Featured Replies

I was driving around this afternoon for about an hour or so, a few times I had the engine off for about a few minutes each time. But when I pulled in to a car park for the most recent time, and had the engine off for no more than two or three minutes, and attempted to start the car, it wouldn’t start, and would hear a clicking sound and the engine would only start to slightly crank before stopping. Had to get a jump start and then it was working again. The technician told me the battery was fine. But I’m still unsure why this happened, as I had been driving today for a while before this happened and also during the week and I thought that would have kept the battery well charged. My car is a Ford Fiesta 2017 with push start. I am hoping you can give me ideas as to what could have caused this

alternator not charging the battery or the battery not holding charge... ?

You say you stopped a few times, so hadn't been driving for an hour non-stop.  Every engine start takes a chunk of battery power.  If you had the ignition on while stopped that'll be draining the battery each time  as well.

Ultimately you need to check the battery voltage after resting for half an hour now.  That'll give us an idea of it's condition.
